Male trip

Maldives was where me and Rakhi went for our honeymoon. We went to a resort called Embudu. Male' is more like a 'you have to see it to believe it' kind of place. Its strange though that more than Male' rupiah, American dollar is accepted everywhere, even in small shops.

Its an out and out tourist country. The resort was top class and the food was exquisite. One has to shell out 40$ per person for a ride from the airport to the resort. The airport is one helluva place with the main access only from water. I was shocked to be 'driven' to and from the airport in a boat. The 2nd row first photo is a snap of the airport.

The water is crystal clear and specific instructions were given not to step on the coral reef as we might end up killing it. The fishes can be seen swimming around the reef especially baby sharks.

By the way anyone wanting to go to Male' from India, a piece of advice. Make sure you have ECNR stamped on your passport. We were taken out of the lounge inspite of getting boarding passes and had to return home much to delight of our friends who still now tease us for this.
